One of the Gresham's School network systems is called Netmanager.
This is a very versatile system and as such, two sections have been opened up to staff.
1) The internet can be disabled/enabled for select computer groups
2) Messages (Bulletins) can be placed on to the student start page viewed by all students when they access the internet.

Logging in
Click on the Netmanager Login - Netmanager link from the Staff Portal.
This will open Netmanger's login page. Using your normal login password, enter your username and password then click "Login to Netmanager Administration"

The window will change to display Netmanager's start page which has a menu down the left hand side.
Most of the menu items are greyed out apart from and .
The 'Webproxy' menu item, accesses a part of the internet filter which has been configured to disable/enable certain computer groups. These are labelled to avoid confusion.
The 'Intranet' menu item allows bulletins to be automagically added the students start page.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT USERS LOGOUT CORRECTLY BY CLICKING ON AFTER USE

The options down the right hand side correspond to areas within the Senior school that contain computers.
Each area can have it's internet access disabled, this is indicated by a tick in the right hand box and the area name in bold, as shown with Physics Lab 2 area

Click on an empty box to INDICATE that you wish this area to have the internet access turned off.
After a short delay, the page will re-display and the box will have a tick in it.
INTERNET ACCESS IS STILL AVAILABLE until you click over the box located top left of the page. Again, there might be a short delay straight after the box has been clicked on, but as soon as the page is visible again the internet access will be turned off.

ALWAYS CLICK ON LOG OUT AFTER USE.

The process is the same as for turning the internet access off, but this time click over the ticked box.
After a short delay the page will re-display with the tick removed and the area in normal text
The internet access will not be turned on until is clicked.

Adding Messages (Bulletins)
A new option is now available (Summer 2008) from the Netmanager system, which allows staff to add their own bulletins onto the student start page.
This is accessed by clicking on the menu item then click on menu item.
The window shown below will then appear:

The window displays current messages, left, with the date and edit/delete facilities on the right.
New bulletins are created by clicking on Add new, bottom left, which will create a box in the window as shown below:

Enter the message into the blank box then click on the button.
NB. Adding <hr /> (including the < > tags) at the end of your message will separate your bulletin from other bulletins with a line as shown under this paragraph. This will stop the messages from merging into one another.
